Distance Learning - a verse

Distance Learning

She was detached and harsh
So I could see it coming
The inevitable ending
There was no use in running

Her cool empty eyes
Her incongruent ways
Erratic behaviour
Irritable for days and days

Conflict and tension
Only time she at home
Loves talking about herself
On the telephone

Spoilt princess
Everything on her terms
Have to fit in around her
Or else it burns

Psychopathic liar
The wounded healer
Unless she's your tutor
Then instead the non feeler
.
Don't disturb her too much
She wants an easy life
Expect help with your work
Get trouble and strife

She wants a distance
I - it not thou
Robotic teaching
Not we together shall

It's not about us
Drop the you or we
It's only about her
Forget about me

She comes in to lecture
Not to teach
Doesn't want interaction
Or any rapport reached

One lot in, next intake in
conveyor belt factory
So long as they pass
it's satisfactory

Doesn't practise
What she preaches
Doesn't full in line
With what she teaches

Punishing those
For being there
Taking up her time
She's tired be fair!

Always projecting
Out on others
Her outlet here
She rules above us

Bully in the glass room
What she like when not at work?
Some people say
Once a jerk always a jerk

Is this what they call
Distant learning?
She's here but not
Her distance yearning

Oh warm counsellor
Caring and kind
Walk in my shoes
Take me as you find

It was only Ms Field
Who was gentle with soul
The rest of the group
Far away from such goal.
